My work spans research, UX, and UI design, and I'm happiest when I can partner with users, stakeholders, and teammates to uncover insights and build solutions that make a meaningful impact. I started my career in fashion design, and what drew me to design then is still what motivates me today. The opportunity to do a variety of work, create something useful, and beautiful. Over time, I found myself wanting to dive deeper into problem solving and design in a meaningful way.
With product design, I enjoy the process of ambiguity turning into clarity. Exploring complex challenges, and gradually shaping insights into solutions that meet real user needs. I'm especially drawn to products that improve everyday experiences. One of the things that attracted me to civic technology was the opportunity to solve problems that affect real people at meaningful moments in their lives. Whether someone is applying for a permit, requesting a service, or navigating a complicated process, good design removes obstacles so they have more time for the things that matter most.
Outside of work, you'll usually find me training for a Spartan race, gardening, or trying to keep my collection of plants alive. I love the challenge of setting a goal, improving each time, and learning through the process. I get inspired by Spartan races to focus on the obstacle in front of you, break big challenges into manageable steps, and keep moving forward. It is a wonderful metaphor for solving problems!
